How to Respond to the Legislature?
P.A.'s...How to Get Involved in the Law Making Process.

Remember it is your life at Stake.

1.    Go to the www.wyopa.com web site.

2.    Click on the HB-209 Link and read the Bill. (Print the 61 page Bill)

3.    The bill has been referred to the H-Corporations Committee.
Joint Committee
Look at all the members of the Committee. And Print the Page.

4.    Find out what day the bill will be reviewed and attend the meeting  in the State Capital.  It will be in Room H-8.

5.    Write the issues down carefully and offer your solutions.  We will post them for your help.

6.    Contact the Committee (detailed list) ahead of time and tell them that you will be in attendance.   Tell them that the Bill is "Fencing" in nature and has "carry overs in regulation"  that will put you out of business.   Tell them the proposed bill was not the one presented in joint meetings with the P.A's.  It was totally re-written.

7.    Write a memo with the information from your phone call, and what you discussed, and mail it thanking him for listening to you.

8.    Attend the meeting (The Joint Committee meeting)  and later the Floor, if it gets that far.

9.    If it goes to the H-Corp Committee, they may then refer it to the S-Corp Committee for their input.  Or it may be handled in a Joint Committee.   Find out when and attend that meeting with the same follow-ups.

10.    If it looks like it will go to the General Session, the floor of the House.  then Write, Call, and E-mail a letter to absolutely every one of the Wyoming Legislature.  (House Members)  (Senate Members)  You will probably only have a one -to- two day notice, so you have to be ready with your letters written.

11.    Make sure your letters are individual, and not, boilerplate from someone else.  Put them in your own word, and tell them your concerns.  We will post sample paragraphs on the site.  But state your own convictions and be specific.

12.    Be firm with your convictions, don't let anyone get you offcentered, and thank everyone for their time and listening to you,   a proud Wyomingite.
